Why BREAUX Capital Is Needed Right Now

Two years ago, we realized three things…

Lack of Connectedness

Lack of Connectedness

Lack of Connectedness

Too often we operate in silos which makes it impossible for us to take advantage of capital pooling and collective resource accumulation.

Lack of Trust

Lack of Trust

Lack of Trust

Business is based upon trust, and the general lack of trust among Black people keeps us from doing business with each other, serving to stifle collective growth.

Lack of Organization

Lack of Organization

Lack of Organization

Spending power in the Black community is abundant so why can’t we seem to fund businesses and provide personal loans? Because the capital is unorganized.

Where BREAUX Capital Is Headed

5 years ago, fresh out of undergrad, Derrius & Ras were building a company that would lower the cost of college education for the masses. However, the young Black founders were unable to turn to “friends & family” for their initial cash infusion, and traditional investor biases halted venture capital aspirations. Ras & Derrius realized their business journey would have been much different if they did not run into these issues. They quickly linked up with Brian and decided to launch BREAUX Capital as a network that will not only provide financial capital for members’ businesses, but will also provide human, intellectual, cultural, and social capital.
